Remembering Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn

The long-time San Diego Padres outfielder had been on medical leave since late March from his job as baseball coach at San Diego State.  Gwynn had battled cancer since 2010.  The sweet-swinging, left-hander racked up three-thousand-141 hits during his illustrious 20-year Major League career.  The Padres released a statement saying "we are terribly sad to say goodbye to our teammate, our friend and a legend, Tony Gwynn.  Rest in peace, Mr. Padre."

The Padres had "19" cut into the grass in right field and for the rest of the season, players will wear a "19" patch on their uniforms.
